Bali Ceremony


Bali is famous for so many different cultures and traditions. Have a lot of different ancestral cultural heritage that is embedded and attached tightly in his community, as well as a unique tradition. Culture and traditions from different regions in Bali with its own characteristics. Unique culture and tradition is what makes Bali attracts the tourists to come to Bali for both domestic and foreign. Some of the unique tradition in Bali are as follows:

Ngaben

Cremation is one of the Hindu ceremony, a series of cremation ceremony one of which is aimed cremation procession purify ancestral spirits of the deceased. This tradition was handed down by the people of Bali.

Mekaré-kare (Pandan War)

Is one of the unique tradition in Bali which is located in the village of Tenganan, Karangasem and is held every year in the month of June. Is offering ceremony performed in honor of Lord Indra who is the God of War for the Hindus and the ancestors. Tanganan village itself includes an old village in Bali, called the Bali Aga village or Asli Bali.

Mesangih / Metatah / Mepandes

Tooth filing ceremony or in Balinese language is Mesangih, Metatah, Mepandes the Hindu-Balinese religious ceremony. The ceremony included in the ceremony yadnya Manusa. 6 is a ritual erode tooth-shaped upper canines and aims to reduce human vices (mesangih participants).

Omed-omedan

Omed-omedan tradition can only be found in Banjar Kaja, Sesetan Denpasar. Omed-omedan in Indonesian means pull. Mesuryak

Is one of the unique tradition in banjo Bongan, Bali. Mesuryak is a tradition of throwing money to the top of which was held on the feast of Brass or 10 days after Galungan. The goal is to give the offering or provision to the ancestors who fell on the day of Galungan and return to Nirvana on the feast of Brass.

Megibung

The tradition of eating together in one container, a tradition which is owned by citizens of Karangasem, east end of the island of Bali. Megibung tradition often can be found in religious ceremonies and customs in Karangasem.

Ngurek

You could say ngurek ceremony is a tradition in the most extreme in Bali. This tradition is a form of devotion person to Sang Hyang Widhi (God Almighty).

Melasti

Is one of a series of ceremonies before Nyepi, exactly 3 days before Nyepi. The significance of this ceremony is a self-cleaning process of human, natural, and objects that are considered sacred in a way that washed away all the dirt is gone and the sacred back. In addition, the ceremony is also aimed begged Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa that Hindus were given the power to carry out a series of Hari Raya Nyepi
